Run The Red, New Zealand’s leading mobile marketing company, continued its winning streak on Friday 27 March winning both Gold and Bronze in the mobile category of the 2009 AXIS awards – New Zealand’s leading creative advertising awards.

Run The Red, partnered with ad agencies Clemenger BBDO and Colenso respectively to create two groundbreaking mobile campaigns ‘Distracted Drivers’ for Land Transport New Zealand and ‘Pass the parcel’ for Vodafone’s 10th Birthday.

The two campaigns were awarded a total of 3 gold AXIS awards, 1 AXIS silver award and 1 bronze AXIS award.

’Distracted drivers’ is an innovative campaign that encourages users to visit a website, and send a text to an onscreen driver, the user’s text appears on-screen, the driver responds to it with devastating consequences.

’Vodafone’s 10th birthday’ was an enormous game of Pass the parcel played on mobile phones. Users were asked to send texts to Vodafone, if a music track being played at Vodafone had stopped at the time the user’s text arrived, they would win a prize.

Run The Red CEO Ben Northrop commented ‘Clemenger BBDO and Colenso came up with some stunning ideas. Our job was to make them happen, and that meant using creativity and cutting edge mobile technology to make sure the execution maximised the power of the ideas’.
